Dr. Ginger Oliver, PT, AIB-VR/CON  

Dr. Ginger Oliver, PT, received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College, her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Miami and her Bachelor of Science from Springfield College.  She holds a specialty certification in Vestibular & Concussion Rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance.

Ginger has over 30 years of clinical and leadership experience in the Mohawk Valley.  She has held positions as Rehabilitation Manager at MVHS and Director of Rehabilitation at Rome Memorial Hospital. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Private Practice Section, Health, Policy and Administration Section and Global Health Special Interest Group.  Dr. Oliver, PT has spoken nationally and internationally on therapy and global health topics.  Some of her most valued accomplishments have been from her work in Haiti following the earthquake in 2010.

She is the founder and Executive Director of the Community Rehab Project which established and provides oversite for the Rehabilitation Center of Artibonite, the only rehabilitation clinic in Gonaives, Haiti.  This city of 300,000 people previously had no access to rehabilitation services. She and her family regularly visit Haiti and she coordinates medical mission trips to Haiti throughout the year.

As an owner of ATW, Ginger is excited to combine her passions, enhancing the health and wellness of community members locally and internationally through these sister health, wellness and rehabilitation centers. Ginger lives in Vernon Center with husband and family and loves to draw and paint and being anywhere where there is sunshine and a beach involved!

 

Dr. Ryan Oliver, PT

Dr. Ryan Oliver, PT, co-owner of ATW, received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science in Health Studies from Utica College.

Ryan played 5 years of Intercollegiate Football for the Utica College Pioneers.  He was chosen for the All State Good Works Team at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans for his outstanding community involvement both locally and internationally in Haiti.  Ryan has contributed greatly to the development of the Rehabilitation Center of Artibonite in Haiti and continues to bring teams to Haiti annually.  Together, Ginger and Ryan hope to continue to expand their work locally and globally serving others and providing exceptional care.

Ryan has a strong clinical background in orthopedics and sports physical therapy. He especially loves working with athletes of all levels and helping them return to their highest level of competitive sports.  When Ryan is not working, you can find him either fishing, hunting or hanging out with his sidekick, Loki.

 

Dr. Kristin Novotny, PT

Dr. Kristin Novotny, PT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Clarkson University.  She has advanced certifications from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute including Level 1 (Female Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction and Treatment), Level 2A (Colorectal Pelvic Health, Pudendal Neuralgia, and Coccyx Pain), Level 2B (Urogynecologic Examination and Treatment Interventions),  Acupressure for Optimal Pelvic Health, and Fertility considerations for the Pelvic Therapist.

Kristin loves working with pregnant and post partum moms and provides many community events educating on topics related to pregnancy and post partum care. She loves the ability to help others by building relationships with her clients where they feel comfortable discussing topics that most people don’t want to talk about.  Kristin has also significant experience helping our male clients with pre and post prostatectomy surgery and other male pelvic floor issues.  Her kind and professional approach is appreciated by all.

Kristin, born and raised in the Adirondacks, now lives locally with her husband, Corey, daughter Milana and son Richter. Kristin loves golfing, volleyball and all things outdoors especially when visiting her hometown in the Adirondacks!

 

Dr. Rachel Boice, PT, Cert. MDT

Dr. Rachel Boice, PT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science in Health Studies from Utica College.  She has advanced certifications from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute including Level 1 (Female Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction and Treatment), Level 2A (Colorectal Pelvic Health, Pudendal Neuralgia, and Coccyx Pain) and Level 2B (Urogynecologic Examination and Treatment Interventions).  She also has McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment Certification which includes Part A – MDT: Lumbar Spine, Part B – MDT: Cervical and Thoracic Spine, Part C – MDT: Advanced Lumbar Spine and Extremities – Lower Limb and Part D – MDT: Advanced Cervical & Thoracic Spine and Extremities – Upper Limb.

Rachel feels being a pelvic floor therapist is very rewarding.  As a woman and mom herself, she feels she is able to relate well to her female clients.  She feels the private space we have here at our clinic for our pelvic floor program really helps to facilitate a positive experience for a sensitive subject. Rachel also treats our male clients with pelvic floor dysfunction providing clinical excellence and professional care.

Rachel, a native of Madison, NY, loves the great outdoors especially when there is any type of water involved! She loves spending time with her husband Allan, and three beautiful daughters, Chloe, Riley and Zoey.

 

Dr. Maggie Armitage, PT

Dr. Maggie Armitage, PT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science in Natural Science from Daemen College.  She has an advanced certification from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute of Level 1 (Female Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction and Treatment).

Maggie loves working with women with pelvic floor dysfunction and providing high quality individualized care. Her kind and professional manner makes her a fabulous therapist. She loves that our pelvic floor team continues to grow and how we all have different clinical expertise and learn from each other, providing outstanding care to our community.

Maggie grew up in the Vernon area and resides locally with her husband, Tom and their growing family. Maggie loves soccer, reading and spending time with her family.

 

Allison Bowers, MPH, RD, LDN, CDN

Allison is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who holds a Master’s degree in Public Health in Social Behavioral Science and Health Communication from Boston University. Allison earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from James Madison University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Saint Joseph. She holds a Certificate in Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

She brings compassion and understanding to each client, and provides them with the necessary tools for positive behavior change. She is a firm believer in taking baby steps – meal by meal, day by day, to achieve success and a healthier lifestyle. She also understands that nutrition is never “one size fits all” and that all foods have a place in the diet. 

Additionally, Allison has extensive experience teaching medical nutrition therapy to both treat and prevent chronic diseases.  Allison, in her free time, is an avid runner and has completed multiple full and half-marathons. She actively practices mindful eating and enjoys how much food can bring people together.

 

Misty Shevlin, COTA, Admin Assistant / Wellness Coordinator

Misty Shevlin is the heart of Achievement Therapy & Wellness! She is the glue that keeps our clinic running smooth. Misty received her Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Bryant and Stratton College which helps her to understand and navigate all the information when clients have questions about our programs and services. Her rehab knowledge, caring and welcoming personality makes our clients feel right at home. She manages our front desk and helps our wellness clients throughout the day, keeping them on track with their individual goals. She is always available to lend a helping hand and a smile to brighten your day!

Bob Shevlin, Billing Specialist

If Misty is the heart of Achievement Therapy & Wellness, Bob Shevlin is the soul. Not only does Bob work with all the insurance companies to help our clients access the care they need, he also keeps our facility in top shape. Navigating insurance and billing is no small feat and Bob does it so well.  Although he is mostly behind the scenes, Bob does it all at ATW and is such an important part of our team.

Bob and Misty found love at ATW and we are so happy for them! They are now kept on their feet by the true king and queen of their household, their dogs Buddy and Izzy.

 

Loki

Loki is a graduate of Awesome Dog Academy. He loves dog treats of all kinds, belly rubs, swimming and long walks at the park. He especially loves his Dad, Ryan and Mom, Alydia.  He is the official greeter of ATW but don’t worry if you are not a dog fan, he is not offended as this allows him to nap at work in his upstairs apartment.
